Fantastic book!To be honest, I purchased this book to make my debit gift card receipt seem more scholarly (because it is attached to my school account). However, I took a couple days (3 to be exact) to really get into the book and here is my take on the handbook.1. The lessons are very specific, but then span the lesson over a more general use.2. There are concise examples that *CLEARLY* shows the lesson in action. (example, the lesson on Conditional Statements was almost completely defined by the examples because they labeled every part with a general title that made the idea much easier to digest.3. I'm just a regular guy, but by day 3 I was already coding simple Java programs that did things as complicated as calculating my workout regime to burn off a certain number of calories. (Just an example).Overall, I was very pleased and would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn a first coding language!
Learning JAVA is not a piece of cake. You really have to understand how the code works or else you won’t get a good result or any result at all. This book is definitely helpful. There are plenty of examples and practices every end of the chapter. What sets it apart from most books is that JAVA textbooks tend to be too wordy. However with this book, a topic is presented, you are given an example and you get to practice what you have read. This is very helpful to college students who have JAVA as part of their curriculum.

This book indeed is suited for everyone and for any beginners, for this is very comprehensive, simple words and explanations so easily be understood.This book is an exceptional book. I would recommend this to any ‘really really new’ learner programmer, or anyone who want’s and idea of Java programming. This book is good for anyone to read before starting their training courses, because then they have an idea of what is included in Java programming. What I most appreciate about this book is that it is well organized and all of the beginner elements are defined in brief but clear detail such as loops, initialization, and data types and structures etc. etc. Though I didn’t care much about the workshops, I just zoomed past them.

This book is very good for those who want to understand one of the most important languages of computers-the JavaScript. It helped me understand java programming easily and really made me more interested in knowing this program more. The author did a great job. I would love to read more books from this author. I found it very helpful and I definitely recommend it to everybody who needs to learn Java fast!
I've not written any programs for a long time but have enough skill to understand all the fundamentals and basics usually required. This book is short but to the point, providing clear explanations in a logical manner of the basic syntax and logic one needs to start with any programming language. The subjects are laid out in sections in a manner that I've figured out how to process it rapidly. If you want to play with Java, give it a try and experiment a bit this would be a good starting point.
